The panpipe is an instrument of native American origin, used especially in the Andean highlands in countries such as: Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador. Its development began around the 5th century, in the Huari culture, located in Peru. Since that time there has been a wide variety of them.
The "TOYO" or siku (from the Aymara 'tube that gives sound') is a musical instrument generally made up of two rows of reed tubes of different lengths: the arca, normally with seven tubes, and the ira, normally with 6, although depending on the type of siku these quantities can vary considerably.
